Fairtrade Evening

As part of Fairtrade Fortnight we held a Fairtrade Taster session on Wednesday 7th March. Available to try were various wines, juices, cakes, biscuits and fruit from around the world. Geoff was the quizmaster for the evening. Although the questions were hard, people did say they had learnt a lot about Fairtrade. Sue was worried that she did not have enough food, but there was plenty and there are cakes & biscuits (unopened!) left for next Wednesday night.
And for those interested in recycling, the plastic "glasses" were washed after Paul & Pam’s wine tasting evening and will be washed again and saved for future use. The banana, orange & pineapple skins all went into our compost bins, along with the paper plates & cardboard wrappers. Obviously the bottles will be recycled as well, so very little went into our refuse sack.
