Beyond South Head – Sunday 17th August 2008

Starting from The Wash, 12 of us set off for a long walk that took in Rushop
Edge and Jacob’s Ladder. We were rewarded with quite favourable weather
conditions and good views, especially from our lunch stop overlooking the
Edale valley. It was here that primitive man(see photo) could be observed
scavaging for berries. We bumped into Bob Whitall on his way back from the
Nags Head, at the top of Jacob’s ladder. Rather longer than intended we had
clocked up some 14 or 15 miles by the time we limped into the car park at 6
pm, but all agreed that it had been a good walk that had taken in some
unfamiliar terrain.
Cheers, John.
