Molly’s First go at Leading a Walk

In beautiful weather, 10 children and 12 adults met at Castleton Tourist Info Centre to complete a circular walk via Hope.  This truely was a family walk, with 3 generations, as Molly’s grandparents joined us.  Molly was very impressed with the new people to chat to (particularly Catherine Lilley, the only other girl on the walk) although she soon got sick of carrying the map and delegated the job of finding paths to her mum.  The walk took us past streams, on lanes, past trees to climb and over a very bouncy bridge over the railway.  The ground was ever so slightly soggy underfoot and we had a few sitting in the mud at times (and not just when we had the picnic lunch).  We finished the walk around 2pm in time for an ice cream or a sleep in the car on the way home.
