15 of us, and two dogs, were out for
this walk
which took us from Glossop onto Bleaklow Head via Swineshew Reservoir
and
Clough Head. It was a long, but easy ascent to this aptly named
wilderness, in
cool and cloudy, but dry conditions. After following the Pennine way to
"Old
Woman" we took the Doctor’s Gate path -how do these places get their
names?!- and Shelf Brook to Old Glossop where we had a welcome drink at
this walk
