We helped to plant these trees!

Geoff & I took a snowy walk today from Romiley to Otterspool then back up to Bredbury via the field alongside Highfield Cemetery. Some you you may remember that on February 12th 2000 we joined Stockport Council and other members of the public to plant some trees for the Millenium. Well you will be pleased to know that they have survived almost 10 years and are looking healthy. We took some photos for you to see – spot the one that was not planted by us!

We also planted trees in Cheadle Hulme to celebrate Stockport YHA’s 40th Anniversary. I am not sure of the date as it does not appear on any of the programmes but in May 1995 Mike Lilley lead a Wednesday evening walk to see our trees so I am guessing that we planted them in the Autumn or Spring before that.
Perhaps we should have a return visit this summer to see whether they have survived 15 years.
